Keep a dehumidifier dust filter separate from optional filter care
Identify the component and its instructions before making a cleaning or replacement schedule.
Updated:

Name the component first
The Meaco 12L and 20L Low Energy manual distinguishes the inlet dust filter from an optional HEPA filter. Treat that distinction as the starting point for an ownership note. The word “filter” alone is not enough to identify the part or decide what can be cleaned, replaced or reused.
Find the diagram for your exact model and record the component name used there. Do not disassemble a device beyond the user-maintenance instructions. If an old appliance has an unfamiliar insert, ask the manufacturer to identify it rather than assuming it is an approved accessory. A plausible-looking layer can still be the wrong item or require different care.

Create a component-by-component record
Use 3 steps: identify the part, locate its care instruction, then record the stated trigger or interval. Keep each component on its own line. This prevents a cleaning instruction for a mesh surface from being transferred to a different filter simply because both are reached through the same rear cover.
Check the record 2 times against the exact manual before adding reminders. These are editorial checks, not a replacement for the manufacturer's procedure. Save the manual version and source link. If an instruction has changed between editions, ask which edition applies to your appliance instead of combining whichever lines seem most convenient.
Do not invent a universal washing rule
Philips' separate support guidance also distinguishes washable pre-filter arrangements from other filters that require replacement, and treats layered-filter surface care differently. This is another example of why appearance cannot establish a cleaning method. It is not permission to apply Philips instructions to a Meaco appliance or to the historical devices in the photographs.
Keep water, cleaning products and tools away from any component unless its own instructions permit the method. Follow the specified isolation, drying and reassembly steps. If the manual does not explain the condition you see, use support rather than experimenting with a procedure found for another model.

Turn the instructions into useful reminders
A reminder should name the component and the task, not merely say “filter day”. Add a link to the relevant manual section so the correct method is easy to find. Separate a visual check, a cleaning task and a replacement purchase. They can occur for different reasons and should not be collapsed into one automatic action.
If you choose to review your record after 30 days, make clear that this is a paperwork review, not the cleaning interval for the appliance. The actual schedule must come from its instructions and any conditions they specify. Adjust the record when the manufacturer clarifies an uncertainty, and retain the reason for the change.
Keep costs and care connected but distinct
Add the exact replacement reference and current quote to a separate budget sheet. Do not extend a replacement interval simply to make an annual estimate smaller, or assume cleaning restores a component that the manufacturer says should be replaced. A budget is useful only when it respects the actual care requirements.
The photographs show a dehumidifier body and two different historical purifier filter arrangements. They illustrate identification and access, not the cited procedures. Keep their limits in mind when comparing a picture with your own appliance. A short, accurate component record is more useful than a long generic checklist that blends incompatible instructions.
